A beginner-friendly introduction to USPSA/IDPA-style competitive shooting focused on safety, efficiency, and confidence. Students leave prepared to shoot their first match within 30 days.
Course Length: 4 Hours (1-2 hrs classroom, 2-3 hrs range)
Classroom Modules:
- Competitive Shooting Overview (USPSA/IDPA/Steel)
- Safety Foundations: Cold Range, 180 Rule, DQ Conditions
- Range Commands & Match Etiquette
- Gear Setup & Division Basics
- Simple Stage Planning+ Hit Factor Explained (Points+ Time)
Range Modules:
- Fundamentals: Grip, Stance, Presentation, Drawstroke
- Controlled Pairs & Accuracy Under Time
- Reload Mechanics (Dry - Live)
- Movement: Box-to-Box, Target Transitions, Safe Footwork
- Final Mini-Stage: 8-12 Rounds, 3 Positions, 1 Reload
Student Outcomes:
- Confident execution of RO command sequence
- Safe muzzle discipline in movement
